Girly Stars Nails Did
It's seriously been one of those weeks. So in order to make myself feel better I thought I'd do something cheery and out of character. The cheery is the stars which I love, the out of character is definitely the pink!
It made me smile even though it only lasted 2 days. I really REALLY need to go out and buy another bottle of OPI's base coat. Right now I'm using a Sally Hansen brand and I'm lucky if my polish wears more than a day :(
I used Eyeko's Punk Polish for the base, and then a Bundle Monster plate with Konad special black polish for the stamp. I know its simple, but sometimes after a hard week you just have to keep things easy.
If you haven't already - take some time to enter my latest Eyeko Giveaway!

Green Swoop nails Did
They're green. Remind me of St. Patty's Day at McDonalds.
That's all I have to say about them. Meh.
Base is OPI Jade is the New Black, dark green is Nubar Forest with konad 2030 on top, light green is Nubar Green Tea. White nail art pen.
Double meh.

Spring is in the Air Nails Did
I can't even begin to tell you how lazy I was tonight. It took a WHOLE lot of effort to even take off my kimono nails LOL. I just had a really tiring/drama filled day at work. Man, TV peeps can be so dramatic!
Anyway, I thought I'd do something a bit cheery to lift my spirits a bit and try out some Konad layering. Now, I have discovered that in order to do wicked awesome Konad layering you obviously have to have more than 5 Konad plates :S BUT I'm workin with what I got :D
So I started off with Orly Snowcone as the base and used a nail art pen in white topped off with Sally Hansen Disco Ball for the clouds. Then with trusty Konad plate M51 and M66 I layered grass with Zoya Veruschka, Nubar Green Tea and OPI Jade is the New Black. Then I freehanded some little ladybugs with black and red nail art pens.
They make me kinda happy! And also kinda sleepy!!
Okay now I figure I'll do at least one more mani until I'm whisked off to Cuba!! I'm such a jet-setter lolz. I'm still torn on what to do for that...any suggestions??

Michelle and Amy's Wedding Nails Did
I love weddings, especially those where I don't have to do any work! This Saturday was my friends Michelle and Amy's wedding which I had been looking forward to for a while. They are such a lovely couple and had such a perfect day. All week it had been raining and dreary and the clouds parted this weekend for some much needed sunshine!

So I decided to do a special mani to celebrate their special day. Funnily enough I happened to match both my dress and their wedding colours! I was so matchy!!

Then I finally got to use these 3D nail art stickers I picked up in Japan along with some self-adhesive pearls I picked up in the craft section of the dollar store. I sealed it off with multiple coats of Sally Hansen UV topcoat to keep everything in place!

PANDA'S ATTACK Nails Did

Anyway, I started off doing a completely different mani and ended up with pandas. I think it worked :D
For the base I used OPI Jade is the New Black and China Glaze 2030 stamped with konad plate M66.
Then I drew little panda's using black, white and pink nail art pens. I like the one on the pointer the best - he looks super thoughtful like "Hey, am I black with white spots or white with black spots?" or something existential like that.
PANDAS ARE INSIGHTFUL!!
Okay I'm obviously delirious from lack of sleep. So with this I bid you all goodnight.

Spring Toes and a Touch of Neon Nails Did
Anyway, apologies to those in advance who don't like toes - I'm right there with you! Feet...*shudder* so this is probably the first and last time you'll get to see a pedi from me!
The base is China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint, with Solar Power for the petals and Lemon Fizz for the highlight. The center is White on White and Rimmel Torrid.
I used Color Club Volt of Light for the neon yellow, China Glaze Liquid Leather for the black and 2030 for the stamp. Seche vite tops off my mani and pedi (*gasp* I'M RUNNING OUT! NOOOOO).
Hope you all enjoy your first day of spring!!

Off to Mexico I go! And a quick holo nails did.
.jpg)
Just a note to say bye and see you in a week! I did a quick mani that I'm posting quickly before heading to bed since I have to leave for the airport in 5 hours. Sorry I took it with my iPhone camera since I forgot to download pictures from my other camera before I packed it :S
Anyway, I thought I'd do something simple because I have to put up with it for a whole week! There is China Glaze OMG with Konad and Konad black special polish.
Have a fantastic week everyone! See you when I get back!

TWEET! Birds! Nails Did
Birds are kinda freaky, especially when they all line up on a telephone wire and stare at you like they're about to attack. I actually was chased around for 5 minutes by a Canada goose once....so now I'm pretty wary of them. Despite the fact that Canadians are supposed to be all polite and friendly - let me tell you these geese are the antithesis of that. SO NASTY, and they bite! Seriously...I remember once they joked about opening a hunting season on the goose cause there was so many. I'd throw a rock, I SO WOULD!
Anyway, I fell in love with this mani from the lovely Babbling Brooke so that was my inspiration. For the base I used L.A. Colors in Sea Green which I actually found at the dollar store! Then to highlight it I used China Glaze for Audrey and White on White.
Then with Konad special polish in black I used Konad plate M66's cherry blossom design but made sure to take off any blossoms from the stamper. Then I mixed CG Liquid Leather and White on White to get a nice grey (I'm still waiting to buy Recycle...don't ask me why...I don't know, I want it now!! :'( ). Its all sealed with Seche Vite
I really like this mani and I was surprised at the end result because when I did the background it looked at first like I painted my nails blue and then a bird pooped on them :S . But it all came together with the branches and the birds :D

Its Definately Not Easy Being Green Nails Did
Here it is with nothing on it. It was actually really surprising to me. Usually I check out a lot of polish sites and swatches before I grab a polish but this one caught my eye right off the shelf and I didn't do any further research into it. So who knew it was going to go on almost like Emerald Sparkle...but then it went matte/shimmer...and then just matte. It was kinda dissapointing that with all that application shimmer that it would kinda just fade away :( So now its just a really dark matte green. But I can work with that.
Oh and before I continue - holy long drying time batman!! I must have smudged my right thumb like two times before it finally set. SO FRUSTRATING!
So I wanted to keep it simple, mostly because I'm not feeling too well and have the sniffles :( So I decided to use a Konad plate and Nubar Wildlife which I haven't gotten a chance to use yet. So this is plate M51's flower design. And then I put a rhinestone in the middle which involved me somehow getting super glue on my tongue! I don't know how these things happen I'm just awesome like that :S
By the way these had to be one of the hardest things to photograph to date! But as you can see the Zoya polish is hardly shimmery and the Nubar polish is just meh. I think Wildlife would be awesome as a base but not so much Konading...or perhaps i just have to find the right base for it. I consider this a mani-fail. So not in love with it but it'll have to do for one day until I find the strength to change it tomorrow. Boo.
Oh and here is a swatch of the Gosh Golden Dragon polish I bought yesterday too. This is two coats. It's kind of a blue/green with a hint of gold. I think it definately would need more than 2 coats if it was going to be your base. But the colour is super!

Guest Nails Did - Lovely lady Kim

Turns out she's also an excellent Konad'er. She actually taught me the way of the q-tip to clean up - SO SMART! She's like my Konad Yoda.
Here is her mani of the moment. She used What's a Tire Jack? matte for Sephora for the base with konad plate m57 and Konad's black nail polish.
It looks awesome. The end result: a lovely velvety two tone black look. It looks very Velvet Underground. LOVE IT!

Holo at Ur Grrl Nails Did! - Daily Nail Contest Entry

This is my interpretation of her design Magical Footloose Attraction. I was waiting waiting waiting to use China Glaze's OMG that I ordered from Transdesign, and I also picked up Nubar's Holographic Glitter yesterday and wondered what they'd look like together. There's a pic of ChG OMG - not that this colour is even new to the nail bloggers but its new to me! SO HOLORIFIC!

I like it! And I can't stop staring at the holo effect I'm getting. Ben just says it just looks sparkly but what does he know! Men.
Here it is with no flash just so you can see the sparkly-ness...kind of...although it doesn't come close to doing it justice!

Office Nails Did
I like having my office ladies look good and what better way than to treat them to a little nail art?

Elif doesn't often get her nails did - in fact she says shes a chronic biter (bad Elif!), she's also not that girly so she says *cough* twilight reader *cough* so we thought we'd go with something a little dark and not super feminine. Opi's Linkin Park After Dark for the base topped with Konad stamping silver with M60 for the design.
Jenn likes to take advantage of my nail art so you'll probably see more and more of her in my blog as the days go by. She's also a chronic chipper. I dont know how you wear down nails after 2 days...USE A BASE COAT JENN! So she already had a champagne pink type colour on her nails that had tip wear so I sponged on Opi's Curry Up Don't Be Late to cover them and then stamped with Konad stamping black with M51 for the design. Came off as a pretty cool effect and actually brought out a lot of the silver tones in her original polish.
