So my friend Nikki and I went out to one of the 2 salons in Toronto currently doing Minx nails. It was something that I had been wanting to try for a while but just putting off mostly cause I've been lazy LOL. Anyway, we made a date to do it, and I have to say...I'm a little disappointing. I mean, the result is lovely! But when it comes down to it its just a foil pressed on and applied with heat.
The longevity of it was so upsetting - the technician told us that it would last 7 to 10 days and that evening/next morning the edges already started to roll. I'm not sure if it was the application or just the nature of Minx itself, but it was disappointing. The great thing is that they LOOK awesome for the short amount of time that they're adhered properly. I got a mix of this funky 80's confetti motif with the mirrored silver (the one Beyonce rocked - not that I care...but there you have it).
All in all for $55 for 4.5 (3 of which they looked ragged) days that's a lot of polish I coulda bought...but I guess to try it once it was okay. Sorry for the crappy iPhone pic, but at least its from an iPhone 4 so its not that bad!
I'm a whole lotta awesome built into an equally awesome package. And for this - you will listen to every word I have to say!! Me in a nutshell: My new baby, TV, comics, husband, nails, good times (not necessarily in that order)
Big HI to everyone who stumbles across this page, and a WHOOT to those who decide to stick around for all my random musings. Welcome!
My friend Amanda celebrated her 30th yesterday! So in honor of that milestone I thought I'd do something that reminds me of her - Union ...
