Man vs Food Nails Did

I LOVE the show Man Vs Food. I think its because I can just live vicariously through the host while he eats all of the delicious things that I could never think to put into my body! If you haven't seen the show its on the Travel Network and basically this guy goes around the US sampling really outrageous food and then every episode ends in a food challenge.

He's done things like try to eat a 12 patty hamburger, eat 5 extremely hot chicken wings, 180 oysters and so on. He did eat the most delicious looking hamburger ever though - the grilled cheese burger. And yea, this is the replica that I made, and ate, not gonna lie. IT WAS AMAZING.

So I did the show logo on my nails. For the base I used Nubar NV2 then brushed "x"'s with OPI's Curry Up Don't Be Late, My Big Break, and a purple nail art pen. For the (very badly done at least in the head) wrestler man, I used for his skin a mix of China Glaze White on White, Lemon Fizz and Colour Club Pardon My French. The "vs" is China Glaze Solar Power outlined with a black nail art pen. And lastly the burger bun is a mix of China Glaze Solar Power and Coconut Kiss with nail art pens for the toppings and Rimmel Torrid for the patties.
Yea I'm hungry again...

You So Cheesy Nails Did

I LOVE CHEESE. Seriously its bad. I'm actually a self-described cheese snob. I really love going to cheese mongers and saying "I'm looking for something smokey but light on the palate." LOL I'm telling you - complete snob. But Ben is just as bad if not worse. He actually bought a device called a girolle that is specifically only for one type of cheese called Tete de Moine and is used to make cheese flowers like the ones pictured. Now, they're delicious, but this little gizmo was like $80! And really, how many times do you use it. He says it will pay for itself...but add $40 for a half wheel of Tete on to that each time...yea, that can add up. However, one cheese that I LOVE and wont hurt your wallet - Guinness Cheese. Its literally marbled with Guinness beer and is AMAZING.

Alright I can talk about cheese all day obviously...so here are the nails. What I did was mix Billy Burning Hot with a un-labled nude to get a bit of a softer orange. Then I painted out little swiss cheese cut outs with a brush and nail polish remover. The mouse grey is China Glaze Liquid Leather mixed with Sally Hansen French White and some nail art pens for the accents.

Super apologies for the blurry pics. I must have taken 30 on macro and NONE were coming out for some reason so these were literally the best of the bunch! I'll try again tomorrow and see if my hands shake less or something LOL.

And by the way - I believe I just hit over 300 followers! WHOOT! That's so amazing - thanks so much to all of you who follow my blog! I truly appreciate it!!! So I guess I'll have to devise some sort of giveaway! Look for that coming up :)

Cadbury Creme Nails Did

If there is one thing I can appreciate about this time of year its the fact that they bring back these DELICIOUS goodies called the Cadbury Creme Egg! OMG I love them so much. Mind you, I don't really like the chocolate part, just the filling. My friend one year actually took a Baskin Robbins sample spoon and cut it smaller so I could literally scoop out the filling goodness out and toss the chocolate shell - which I did.

I really wish they would just sell the filling in some sort of ice cream sized tub so I could just sit in front of the TV with a spoon and it in my lap...what?

So I thought I'd do a little nail art because I love them soooo much! SO much in fact that I couldn't get a picture with one of them because I found out this morning that I had eaten the last of my stash last night! BOO.

I used Sally Hansen Satin Slip Frost for the chocolate, China Glaze White on White and a mix of Solar Power and Lemon Fizz for the filling.

For the peeling-off wrapper on the thumb I used  combo of nail art pens in white, blue, red and silver, with Solar Power for the yellow.

OMG I WANT ONE SO BAD RIGHT NOW!!!!

Sushi Nom Nom Nails Did

me at a sushi bar in Japan

If you know me you know I love sushi SO MUCH!!! When Ben and I were in Japan recently we should have eaten more dammit! But its so expensive there (I know right, you would think you could buy it outta vending machines but nooo. Underwear however...).

Anyway so I decided to do a homage to one of my favorite foods (since my favorite food is sweedish meatballs and they would be kinda uninteresting on my nails...and I'd probably chew my fingers off - let's be honest).

As the dark base on every other nail I used Opi's Linkin Park After Dark. For the white base I used China Glaze White on White. Then I used a whole bunch of nail art pens for the sushi, wasabi and the chopsticks on my pinky.

By the way, does anyone know how to get those pesky nail art pen necks unclogged?? I use the stupid pin thingy and for half of them they don't even go in because they're pre-clogged. Go figure.

Anyway, looking at them is making me hungry. So I'm going to stare at Ben until he gets me some sushi...but he won't...jerk.

Oh - AND GO HOCKEY TEAM CANADA!! 5 to 5 in OT? Awesome, and I don't even like hockey.

EDIT: dammit we lost.
