Matrix Jellyfish Nails Did

So there is just something about this desktop that I love. I have a bad habit of constantly changing my background on my work laptop from my standard boring company one and this is the latest I'm toting (click to enlarge). It reminds me of the sea and the matrix all in one. So I decided to put it on my nails!

For the base I used China Glaze Sexy in the City. Then for the dark blue mountain in the background I used Sexy in the City mixed with some Orly Royal Navy. The darker mountain is China Glaze Liquid Leather. For the jellyfish I used a dab of Color Club Take Me to Your Chateau with a white nail art pen. The red dot is also a nail art pen. I think its cute and fits well with the pool party my work is throwing tomorrow.

I don't think I'll do very much swimming, but at least my nails are in the mood!

Eyeko Cream Review

The lovely people at Eyeko in London have sent me Eyeko 3in1 Cream with Extra Glow to show to all of you! Now I'm not actually the moisturizing type of girl, so this whole thing is a little foreign to me to be honest!  This is what the cream is all about:

"Eyeko Cream with Extra Glow is a multitasking highlighter with all the benefits of your favourite cult classic Eyeko Cream. This NEW dreamy pink cream is loaded with micro light reflecting pigments perfect for creating a soft focus sheen. Add a flattering highlights to brow and cheek bones, your cupids bow, even collar bones and shins for a touch of moonlit magic."

I'll start off with some product shots:
Packaging
Eyeko packaging
Reverse Eyeko packaging
Closeup of sell line

Like I did with the nail polishes I reviewed I have to say that I LOVE the packaging. It has just the right amount of Asian flare that I'm all about. The box even has cute little drawings of cherry blossoms on it! I was actually really close to doing a cherry blossom mani to go with this post until I realized that I've done at least 3 of those in the past. However, there can never be enough cherry blossoms in the world I think! Anyway - the packaging is great, the only thing I would have liked to see is some instructions on where best to place the cream. I'll show you why later in my post and also because like I said before, I really have no idea when it comes to applying creams unless they have the word "cocoa butter" in the title.

The Creme Itself
So the cream itself is a light shimmery pink colour and looks like icing! I kinda wanted to eat it, but that's the pregnant in me talking. The consistency is very light and fluffy and not at all greasy. And it smells like cream with no other harsh odors or perfumes. I have some on my hands and I actually don't even smell it anymore, so no scents to make you pass out.

The Shimmer
Woah what a shimmer there is in this product. Its extremely iridescent and the thing it reminded me of first is fairies! Again, the application is very light and not greasy, it just leaves a nice sheen.

The Before Shot
My god do I need some sleep. I swear the baby is keeping me up a lot more than I'd like these nights! Anyway, don't I look all sad without my face all moisturized and shimmery? Lets fix it!

The After Shot
There we go! All fresh and shimmery! This picture doesn't do it full justice so lets do a close up shot:
Yea that's shimmery alright. It was actually SO shimmery I looked like I'd either been misted to death or that I just came back from visiting my Godmother in Fairyville. So I will say this, although I DO very much like this product - for me its for sparing use only: around the eyes, on the cheeks and anywhere else on the face that needs some highlighting, or even collarbones. But definitely not all over my face! I also don't think it would wear too well under makeup. But again, to highlight after makeup application I think would look pretty fresh! Especially since its not greasy and won't smear your makeup.

The Conclusion
Would I buy this product? Yes. Would I ever use it as a daily moisturizer all over my face? No. I think its a great moisturizer to compliment the products that you already have and to give your face some nice shimmery highlights, but not all over as its just too overwhelming. But, because of that I can see this product lasting quite a long time. And for the price tag of $12USD its worth it for a product that's not greasy and that you can probably stretch for a good while. I think I'm going to bust out this product for the next wedding - as its definitely the kind of thing for special occasions and going out! They also have a tinted cream in their product line. Check that one out too!

**This product was furnished to me for free by the manufacturer. This in no way had any bearing on the results of my review. For a full disclaimer please see bottom of page**

Suzy's Wedding Nail's Did

Yay my friend Suzanne finally got married to the fabulous Walter! For their wedding I wanted to do something pretty and QUICK! I had exactly an hour to do a full mani and pedi so I decided to bust out my trusty nail decals for this one :) My bridesmaid dress was red with a black belt and rhinestones (not that you could see the belt because my baby bump and GIGANTIC boobs were covering it - my dress didn't fit). I used OPI's Thrill in Brazil as the base, with some nail decals I got in Chinatown and some self-adhesive pearls that I bought at the craft store.

It was a beautiful day for a beautiful couple and I was very happy to be a part of it. Congrats you two!!!

Mod lines Nails Did

So before I get into the nails I'd like your opinion! I'm in the market for some cookware since my Teflon pan isn't so Teflon anymore. What I mean to say is I scratched it with a fork. Okay a BBQ fork. So I'm looking for some new pans and came across these ones called Le Creuset. They look pretty snazzy! Has anyone out there used them or is anyone a cooking expert that can tell me what they think? This website actually has some good deals on the wok's too, and considering my current wok from IKEA smells like burnt rubber and soy sauce everytime I try to cook in it I think its time for a new one.

But I digress - onto my nails! So I just got China Glaze Recycle, I know I know I'm behind the times. But I love it! It also reminds me that I want to find a lighter grey too cause I think that would look even better paired with colours. I don't know why I do this to myself but I used nail guides and striped on some Nubar Green Tea for the green and China Glaze Lemon Fizz for the yellow to get a subtle mod look. Kinda love it. Kinda hate nail guides. BAH!

In The Navy Nails Did

So I'm in total love with this shirt that I obtained from a clothing swap held by my friend. Mostly because it covers my baby bump, its super cute, and it was FREE!! You can never beat free...unless someone paid you to wear it...I guess that would beat it.

Anyway, my friend Mel also went to Lake Placid and brought me back Orly Royal Navy! I was excited to try it so I paired that as a base with some red and white nail art pens and used my dotting tool with China Glaze 2030 for the "buttons". I think it looks super cute with my shirt!!

By the way - if you haven't already you have ONE more day to enter my Eyeko Polish Giveaway! DO IT.

Pearls Just Wanna Have Fun Nails Did

So I actually forgot to press "post" on this one...so here it is a week late :)

My friend Suzanne is getting married in a couple of days (finally) and we all got together in a very pink, very shagadelic karaoke bus to celebrate!

We were asked to wear pink and black to the event, and I'm SO not a fan of pink - but at least I can do my nails pink'd out!

I used China Glaze Liquid Leather for the black and Finger Paints Up and Coming Artist for the pink.
I then put on some swoops of black and pink with a nail pen and used some self-adhesive pearls I got from the craft store for little add ons!

They were cute but they didnt last too long! No worries since I was so ready to take off the pink!

Here are some fun pics from the night out!
